Commissioning at Horizon Solutions begins before the equipment arrives on site. Thorough reviewing all design documents, schematics, and layouts ensures completeness and accuracy. Once on site, we verify that all AV equipment is configured, installed, and connected according to design specifications. Additionally, our team checks that all devices have the latest firmware and software updates to ensure optimal performance.
Initial Power-Up
We verify that all devices are correctly connected to power sources and that power distribution aligns with the design. Our team follows the proper power-on sequence to prevent power surges and potential damage to the equipment, safeguarding the system's integrity. Additionally, we monitor the initial power-up closely to identify and address any issues that may arise promptly.
Connectivity and Functionality
Basic Connectivity Tests
Horizon Solutions conducts comprehensive tests to confirm that all cables are correctly connected, properly terminated, and free of damage. We verify that all signal paths (audio, video, control) are correctly routed and operational, ensuring that basic connectivity is intact and reliable.
Functional Testing
Our team tests each device individually to ensure it functions correctly. We verify that control systems are programmed accurately and can operate all connected devices as intended. This includes ensuring that all switches, routers and networked devices are configured with the correct settings and can communicate effectively with each other.

Calibration and Testing
Calibration
Horizon Solutions tunes each system as a complete system. These adjustments include routing, equalization, delay, limiting, and volume levels. Similarly, we fine-tune video settings for optimal image quality, ensuring proper resolution, colour balance, brightness, and contrast to deliver the best visual experience.
System Testing and Verification
We conduct operational testing under normal conditions to ensure the system performs as expected. Our team tests various use-case scenarios to verify smooth handling of all expected functions and transitions. We also ensure that backup systems and failover mechanisms work correctly in case of equipment failure, maintaining system reliability.
Performance Verification
Horizon Solutions ensures that the system meets all specified performance criteria and standards. We conduct a walkthrough with end-users to verify that the system meets their needs and expectations, addressing any concerns they may have to ensure complete satisfaction.
Finalization and Handover
Documentation and Training
We update all documentation to reflect the as-built system, including any changes made during commissioning. Horizon Solutions conducts training sessions for end-users and administrators to ensure they are comfortable using the system. Upon request, we provide recordings of training and detailed user manuals and guides for operating the system.
System commissioning is typically completed only on Horizon Solutions installations.
Horizon does offer commission systems sold and/or installed by other providers in specific circumstances.
