We Have Always Trained.

And We Always Will.

Since the 1980's, Horizon has been taking the time to teach our clients how to properly use the equipment they have purchased. In 2005, Resource Stage seminars were created to help further connect volunteer and amateur operators and technicians to industry leading technology and techniques. Today we continue to provide both customized, onsite training as well as regularly scheduled general training in person and online.

Common Training Topics

Customized For You

Audio Mixer Training

Churches | Schools | Theatres

Customized for your audio mixer and your unique system, this session will delve into the fundamentals of a digital (or analogue) audio mixer suitable for your specific environment.

Typically conducted on-site at your venue, utilizing your own mixer, this session is particularly beneficial for individuals who are new to mixers in general, and specifically to digital audio mixers.

Horizon Solutions can provide training on almost all digital and analogue audio mixers however we do more training on these brands than any others: Allen & Heath, QSC, Midas and Behringer mixers.

Mixing Live Sound

Churches | Schools | Theatres

This training offers the opportunity for one or multiple sessions, in which a member of our team will join you for a rehearsal and/or live event (service). We will collaborate with your sound team during the live session and provide feedback and tips afterwards. This session is particularly suited for a small group of operators/sound technicians.

Stage Lighting Control

Churches | Schools | Theatres

Stage lighting is not hard. It can be a great creative outlet once you understand the fundamentals.

This session will begin where you're at. We will build on your understanding of DMX, fixture features and console fundamentals. From there we will help to explain the concepts that the control console's manufacturer is utilizing to create great looks and effects.

We can provide recommendations on colour, position and layering of light.

Stage Lighting Control training is like teaching you how to use a paint brush.  Once you understand how the tools work, you can create great looks. Capture a mood and draw attention with confidence and awesome results.

Horizon provides training on ETC EOS series of consoles (Nomad, Element2, ION XE, GIO@5, EOS TI & Apex), ETC ColorSource Consoles, as well as consoles from Avolites, LightFactory and Varilite/Strand.

Live Streaming

Churches | Schools | Theatres

In this session, we will look at the essential components for a successful live stream: setting up and operating cameras, video switching techniques, utilizing computer inputs effectively (including tips for slide content), and interaction with your chosen live stream hosting platform.

This training is most effective when conducted with a smaller group.
